ITS TROUPE #4996 COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Beginning with the 2016-17 School Year, Troupe #4996 members will be able to earn a Community Service Medal to wear at graduation.  Your participation in troupe-initiated community service opportunities during your senior year must be at 90% participation in order to receive the medal at banquet.  As a troupe, we are committed to community service and reaching out to those in need.

JULY 2018
DRAMA CAMP
Serving as a counselor at Drama Camp is a community service; not only do you earn ITS points, you also receive Community Service Credit.

SUMMER SCHOOL SERVICE
Due to all of the construction at Harrison this summer, our custodians could use some help getting the building/grounds ready.  We will be assisting on June 16-18 with spreading pine straw, cleaning, etc.  Work days will be from 7-10a.m. each day.

HORIZON KICKBALL BUDDIES
We served as running buddies at the Acworth Horizon Field Park for special needs kickball teams.
 
AUGUST 2018
HOYA PRIDE FOOD DRIVE
We collect canned soup as part of the Hoya Pride Food Drive orchestrated by Student Council.

SEPTEMBER 2018
FEED THE FIREFIGHTERS
In order to commemorate the service that our firefighters provided on 9/11, we provide dinner and stock the pantry for those who serve at Station #18. We have been known to provide a "show" as well.

Q100 BIG THANK YOU
Working with our school counseling office, we wrote holiday letters to soldiers.

NOVEMBER 2018
THANKS FOR GIVING CAMPAIGN
We collected even more canned goods for the Student Council food drive to help needy families in the area have a great holiday meal.

DECEMBER 2018
ADOPT A FAMILY
We will provide Christmas gifts for the family that we adopted via our school counseling office. We also collected money at our holiday show in order to help make provisions for our family.

THESCON MINUTE TO WIN IT
Each year at Thescon, they have a quick Fundraiser called "Minute to Win It" -- we want to be prepared this year. Bring in change to the meeting and we will be sure to take it to the conference this year!  Funds help a needy troupe make it to the national conference.
