Fundamentals of Theatre
Open to all students, regardless of experience level, this semester long course serves as an introduction to Theatre Arts. Students will explore basic acting and performance skills, actor preparation techniques, design and technical theatre, dramaturgy, and theatre etiquette. Actors and Technicians will combine these skills in a culminating Devised Theatre performance.

Advanced Drama
This advanced course is designed to develop students in the various elements of the theatre. Students will explore the role that acting, directing, dramaturgy, and technical elements have in the creation of a theatre production. Advanced techniques of movement, vocal support, character development, and performance will be emphasized, as well as design, tech, and Stage Management. Students will have several opportunities to perform both in class and for the public. After-school rehearsals will be required as part of this course. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be made available at the beginning of class. Since this is a production-based class and will culminate in performances for the public, there is a production fee of $150 to cover the costs of royalties, scripts, sets, props, costumes, makeup, marketing, show shirts, snacks, etc.

Technical Theatre
Open to all students, regardless of experience level, this semester long course serves as an introduction to the technical side of putting on a production. Students will explore history, design, and execution in technical areas such as costumes, makeup, lights, sound, sets, and props. After learning the basics of each area, students will work in teams to actually design and build the technical elements for both the Fall and Spring Harrison Theatre productions. At the end of the semester, students will participate in a Tech Challenge following the Georgia Thespian's rules and procedures.
Musical Theatre
This course will examine all aspects of Musical Theatre. Performers will study voice, dance, and acting as part of a full-length musical production. Technicians will study script analysis, design, and production of all technical elements of the play. In addition to the full-length musical, all students will study Musical Theatre History and participate in a research project called Musical Madness. Students will study various musicals, exploring dramaturgy, production and design elements, and performance in order to help choose the Harrison Theatre musical for next year. After-school rehearsals will be required as part of this course. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be made available at the beginning of class. There is a $200 production fee to cover a show t-shirt, scripts & scores, additional production staff, royalties, sets, costumes, supplies, makeup, programs, etc. for this class. Dues can be paid in 2 installments.
